Up there, we inhabit the structure and the treetop filled inside by a captured sky. Down here, we inhabit the continuity of the park covered in reflections, lights-and-shadows and the sound of water announces our becoming tree: the certainty of a dream that will come. The Project is meant for a young couple and two kids. It is situated in a country club in the province of Buenos Aires. The land has many areas full of trees that wake up the dream of being able to live there.

DNKag Creates Rooftop Corten Discs to Revitalize Seaside Warehouse in Russia

Architecture practice DNKag has designed two corten discs as a rooftop extension to a seaside production facility in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Dubbed Harbor Sea Infinity, the project will become a social and business center overlooking Sevkabel Port. In a short time, Sevkabel Port has become a new point of attraction for urban activities and a popular destination for citizens and tourists in the city. The new rooftop addition aims to bring new life to the industrial warehouse.

 The overarching theme of this article speaks to the complex overlay of gender and racial issues that have made architectural practice a hegemonic space. The article takes particular concern with “Women in Architecture” as a spectacle in today’s industry; an industry that in fact has an apparent and palpable lack thereof.  In order to explain this complex issue that we suspect is ever present in other professions of the built environment, we shall describe the Architectural Place for professionals.

Killan Farmhouse / T O B Architect

The Irish countryside is divided into parcels of land called townlands. This  house is situated in the townland of Killan and is built on a hill on the client’s farm. The house is square in plan, the footprint being approximately 12m x 12m. It takes references from the Casino at Marino, the 18th century Neo-classical house by Architect  William Chambers. Though much smaller ‘The Casino’ (small house) is a derivation of Palladio’s Villa Rotunda.  both being  square Greek cross plans, and both offering four equivalent elevations to the surrounding open landscape.

This project is located in Shengshan Town, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang province. The local B&B project has a clear implementation manual, which limits the total area, floor area, height of the building, and even the architectural style. As a result, architectural styling and space creation are extremely limited.
