Three Fresh Takes On Neoclassical Interior Design

A neoclassical base decor scheme of panel wall moulding, decorative ceiling roses, and crown moulding is just the jumping-off point for an original design. This classical foundation is an open vessel in which to pour other aesthetics, dashes of personality, and unique touches. These three inspirational neoclassical home designs each offer a fresh take with exceptional style. Home number one comes alive with colourful mosaic floors and a mid-century modern flair. Our second tour takes place in an ethereal all-white apartment that looks like it came from the clouds. Finally, we’ll visit a Parisian-style interior design with a relaxed boho spirit and an adorable green kids’ room.

A colourful mosaic tile floor makes an instant impact as we enter the living room of our first featured neoclassical interior. Botanical art prints take colour onto an elegantly arched focal wall behind the sofa.

An indoor plant grows a lush green flourish in the sunlight from the window.

The arched windows add an elegant silhouette to the neoclassical interior. A wood and rattan lounge chair is paired with a Cestita lamp by Miguel Mila for Santa & Cole to fashion a comfortable reading area.

Each room of the home features a different mosaic design upon the floor.

In the formal dining room, the mosaic floor creates the appearance of a rug but offers an easy clean surface. Mid century modern furniture adds warming wood tone to the pale decor scheme. An understated pendant light falls above the wooden dining table.

The dining room opens into a bright covered balcony area with colourful stained glass windows.

Inside the covered balcony, an upholstered bench offers a place to relax and soak in the view or a good book. Unique hanging planters bring a part of the environment indoors.

Tall, arched doorways give the home a sense of grandeur.

Inside the kitchen, modern cabinets create a corridor of rich colour. An intricate mosaic floor design complements the decorative crown moulding.

A built-in bench fashions a dining nook at one end of the kitchen installation. Scatter cushions create a cosy aesthetic. A floating shelf displays a small collection of colourful crockery and indoor plants. A red swing arm wall lamp lights the eating area.

A simple white splashback leaves focus on the stunning mosaic floor treatment.

Inside this ethereal white neoclassical apartment design, a white modular sofa appears cloud-soft.

Above the clean white tufted sofa, a botanical pendant drops in a warm boho vibe. Huge ceiling roses morph into descended skylights.

The modular sofa is set out in a two sided arrangement, with one side facing into the kitchen diner and the other facing toward the TV. The living room rug is laid off-centre to create an asymmetrical layout.

A gold floor lamp is teamed with two Pierre Jeanneret Kangaroo Chairs to form a reading area. A white marble coffee table conveniently serves the sofa.

The wooden lounge chair complements the natural tones of the ceiling pendant and the art prints upon the walls.

Behind the modular sofa, a concrete kitchen island features a white marble sink and breakfast bar. Five pure white dining chairs surround its edge.

Sheer white window voiles gently filter the bright sunlight that enters the clean white kitchen. White kitchen units and matching white concrete floor screed meld create a pristine effect.

In the master bedroom, sheer drapes billow into a pure white space. Imposing classical statues stand poised around a panel moulded headboard wall. A gold and white marble wall sconce adds a focal point of atmospheric light.

A modern upholstered bed makes a unique statement in the elegant neoclassical bedroom scheme. Simple white marble slabs make two bedside tables.

Decorative ceiling moulding draws a beautiful ring of adornment above the white bed.

Gold bedroom pendant lights fall with a lustrous sheen above each bedside table.

The headboard wall divides the master bedroom from the main living space. It falls short of the ceiling to leave the original moulding intact. Doorways stand open on either side to achieve a free-flowing layout.

In this neoclassical Parisian style design, we find a more compact layout with an injection of warm brown tones. A brown leather sofa and matching lounge chair line up to fill an attractive arched recess.

A modern sputnik chandelier drops a gold accent into the room, which complements the visually warming wood tone. Built-in cabinets and shelves cosily fill two alcoves, which flank a wall-mounted TV.

Modern artwork complements the french interior design with a myriad of vibrant colours. Floating shelves display sculptural art and books.

A chic fireplace gives the room a welcoming appeal.

A living room rug unfurls a moment of pattern onto a wood herringbone floor treatment. A wood and marble coffee table set are adorned with a botanical display.

A small dining table is encircled by a set of curvaceous modern dining chairs. A vase of greenery makes a natural dining table centrepiece.

A circular dining room pendant light echoes the silhouette of the round dining room table.

Fluted texture adds interest to the base of the small pedestal dining table.

The small kitchen is defined from the rest of the open plan dining room by a change in flooring. The wood herringbone floor is swapped out for a hardwearing, easy-clean tile.

White cabinets help to make the compact kitchen area appear more spacious and bright.

In the bedroom, a charming archway marks the transition between the sleep space and a corridor of wardrobes.

A media console is mounted on the wall opposite the bed, where it underlines classical wainscotting.

Scalloped shelves decorate a plain white wall.

A round vanity stool complements a unique vanity table with a scalloped top.

In the kids room, a green accent colour defines a bespoke bed design. See more ideas for kids’ beds.

A kid’s desk takes the green accent onto the adjacent wall. A round rug places a boho accent.

Built in wardrobes are finished with fresh green handles.

Two green kid’s chairs match the desk and a made-to-measure shelving tower.
