Closed since 2012, this four-star hotel, an emblematic monument of Dax (Landes, France), embarks on a new life, more open towards the city and its population. The landscaping was created in association with EXIT and makes a tremendous contribution, orienting the building towards Dax, fluidifying its approaches and capitalising on L’Adour and Thiers Square. The entranceways of the various entities of the project were simplified in order to accentuate this new programmatic view.

The site is located in the district 3 of Ho Chi Minh and is a co-working space project to be built in the center of Ho Chi Minh. It is assumed that young creators living in Ho Chi Minh City, venture companies and local corporate starters of overseas companies are used, and each floor of 5 stories has different space. This is a renovation project, and the original building was an old building built in the 1990s, and it was repeatedly increased and remodeled so as not to keep the original shape. There is this only farm house on the southern hillside of Bezau. It is old and has the most prominent site of the village. The architectural challenge was to remove the old stable and extend the building with a modern wooden house on three floors for the client and his family. The remaining front building keeps inhabited by the uncle. The project is one answer on how to solve the local issue of a high number of vacant farm houses. The goal was to create a building which appears in a reduced and discreet manner. It is obviously not a stable, but why does it have only three openings?

Reconstruction of Historic Town Hall of Buda / Hetedik Muterem

December 4, 2018 Daniel Tapia 0

The old Town Hall of Buda is one of Hungary’s most important monuments. It is significant because the magistracy of the Hungarian capital operated here from 1688 (the end of 150 years of Turkish rule) until the late 19th century, and it is also unique because of the layering of its construction history both in time and space. The conglomerate of constructions consisting of several civilian buildings from the 13-14th century was formed during the 18th century in several periods to one unified, representative building reflecting Baroque architecture. In the middle ages, there were probably five smaller houses in place of today’s building, the fragments of which are preserved in the cellars and ground floor walls.

The Coura project starts from the need for rehabilitation of a country house with two centuries of history, abandoned by the heirs who built new houses in the surroundings. This small scale construction, now purchased to become a holiday home, featured two floors and an original functional program consisting of an animal shelter (lower floor) and a dwelling (upper floor).
