Design criteria are the several explicit goals for a project that it must achieve so it can be successful. There are recommendations and feasibility reports, where the design and decision criteria are determined in the document’s final recommendations for action. Make your design criteria short but as specific as possible. Using these criteria make manager’s basic tool for evaluating a project’s potential for success. It shows how well it fits into the goals of the organization, the complete image and functionality of the interior. 
Design Criteria Types
There are primary and secondary criteria. Primary criteria are giving a successful project at the end. Secondary criteria are features which are highly desirable but not absolutely essential. Separating these two are establishing a clear hierarchy in design choices.
