The Bamboo Farm Office is the new headquarters of a prototype farm in Korogwe, northern Tanzania, where different species of bamboo are being grown to assess their suitability for use as construction materials. The Farm Office building showcases different ways to utilise industrial bamboo, including bamboo corrugated roof sheets, doors,cladding and furniture. The project was designed by architects Jakob Knudsen, Hannah Wood and Otis Sloan Brittain, with consultancy from Salum Mshamu and Lorenz von Seidlein, and constructed by a team of builders headed by Kiondo Mgumi.
In the Landes, southwestern region of France, within an “airial”, a large airy plot whose typology and name are specific to the department, this wooden frame house welcomes a vertical cladding with black wood joint covers and natural eaves. It is a construction that intends to respect the characteristics of the airial by borrowing the aesthetics of barns and other agricultural buildings originally built on those large grassed areas.

The project consists of a transformation of a ground floor establishment into a workspace for creative studio Six N. Five. A multifunctional studio, aimed at offering office space and a showroom for exhibits. Adding an area for talks and presentations, an at-home workshop for producing prototypes, a leisure and virtual reality area, and a specialty coffee cafe. In short, a small multidisciplinary space, open to the city with large cultural proposals. The space is located in Barcelona, in the neighborhood of Poblenou. An “L” shaped space, with direct street access and a large back terrace.

The project’s program was simple: the main room (table, stretcher and small exercise area) and a waiting room. The client wanted the office to have good sound insulation, so we needed to have both rooms compartmentalized. We lengthened the waiting room from the entrance until we reached the limit for the forecast of a receptionist’s table.
