The Enjoy House brand entrusted TL for the development of the new store facade, located at the intersection of Al Gabriel Monteiro da Silva with Av. Brasil, Jardins district in São Paulo. At the initial briefing, the brand’s biggest concerns were with safety and visibility, because one of the store’s neighbors is a public square with native trees with tall, closed treetops, which greatly darkened the region. TL implemented a facade with an intelligent architecture system, using translucent glass panels illuminated by led.

Richard Rogers Retires After 43 Years of Practice

Richard Rogers has retired from Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners after founding the practice 43 years ago. As one of Britain’s greatest living architects, he is known for iconic, hi-tech architecture, including the Lloyd’s building in London and the Pompidou Centre in Paris. The Pritzker Prize-winner has become one of the world’s most distinct architects, utilizing bright colors and structural elements to create a style that is both recognizable and adaptable.

Dutch Invertuals designs Tiny Offices from corrugated aluminium plates

Tiny Offices by Dutch Invertuals

Design studio Dutch Invertuals has created a collection of compact offices made from corrugated aluminium and wood for Dutch holiday park operator Droomparken. Named Tiny Offices, the small workspaces were designed to be places where you could “freely dream, perform and create”. They have been installed in two of Droomparken’s holiday parks in the Netherlands.

The Liberdade Residential Building is located in Liberdade, a traditional neighborhood in the center of São Paulo, home to the world’s largest ethnic Japanese community outside Japan, and it strives to restore the young people’s ties to the heart of the city, creating a multicultural and diverse community that embraces new lifestyles without compromising the bond with their roots. TODOS has designed two model apartments for the development, one with 19m² and the other with 29m².

Pritzker Prize-winning architect and high-tech architecture pioneer Richard Rogers has retired from Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, the practice he founded in 1977. British-Italian architect Rogers, who is aged 87, has stepped down from the board of Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners. His name will be dropped from the practice within the next two years, per the studio’s founding

The Umbrella Columns of Amancio Williams: Resistance, Autonomy, and Versatility as Seen in 10 Projects

The umbrella column or hollow vault (bóveda cáscara) is a reinforced concrete structure designed by Amancio Williams (Buenos Aires, 1913-1989) that, thanks to its form, has the capacity to support massive amounts of weight while independently maintaining its balance. In other words, it doesn’t need any reinforcing structure, save for its singular column, to remain standing.

The studies surrounding bóveda cáscara in architecture were started by Williams in 1939, and resulted in numerous essays and small-scale models. The structures, specifically designed for high roofs and also known as ‘umbrellas’ or ‘parasols,’ are a prime example of the modern architectural movement in Argentina, distinguished by their experimentation in form and function.
