The 45th edition of ARCO 2026 takes as its central theme “two spaces within the fair.” Our proposal responds to this duality: on the one hand, a constructed space—the Guest Lounge—and on the other, an evoked space—the forests of the northwestern Iberian Peninsula that burned uncontrollably this past August.
Agrosemillas’ offices are set within an agro-industrial landscape shaped by the scale of large vehicles, logistical infrastructures, and production processes rather than by the scale of people. The complex stands beside a national road that separates it from the small town of El Peral — a municipality of 660 inhabitants — and is surrounded by vast agricultural fields with few immediate references. The character of the place emerges both from this territorial condition and from a climate defined by strong seasonal contrasts and recurrent episodes of torrential rain. Work rhythms follow the cycles of the harvest, alternating quieter periods with phases of continuous activity.
In General Alvear, Mendoza, an old winery stands, whose origins date back to 1924, when its first tanks housed the wine of the Hidalgo family. However, in the late 1970s, after being abandoned, the passage of time and lack of care left the building practically in ruins. In 2015, four decades later, an heir of the family, endowed with artistic and cultural vision, acquired the structure with the purpose of transforming it into his atelier, personal museum, and exhibition hall.

The school is located in the native community of Sonomoro, territory of the Nomatsigenga ethnic group in the central jungle of Peru and arises as part of a community process to provide early education for more than 70 boys and girls. The school is situated in a central location within the community and integrates into the daily dynamics of the territory, seeking to value local ways of inhabiting and learning through spatial experience.
Located in the Atacama Region, Chile, the Research Center of the Colla Indigenous Community in the municipality of Copiapó arises from the concrete need to have an infrastructure that supports development, innovation, and research programs driven by the community itself, including the cultivation and botanical study of medicinal plants from the mountainous canyons.
The proposal is developed on two angular volumes, which open toward the landscape, executed in black concrete. They rest and unfold forcefully upon the earth, seeking to establish a new order in the place on which we are situated.
The Shark House is located on the outskirts of Mexico City, in a neighborhood characterized by self-construction, exposed concrete block, and gradual growth, which has generated a landscape of irregular and constantly changing volumes. Instead of contradicting this condition, the project embraces it as a starting point, reinterpreting the irregularity through a volumetric composition that gives the impression of volumes built in different stages.

Architect Clara Crous and her partner Carles acquired the last available plot on one of the streets in Vilamacolum, a small village in the Alt Empordà. It is a triangular lot, in direct contact with the agricultural landscape that has historically defined the territory and also Carles’ biography, which is deeply connected to the countryside.
