“Each part of the construction should have its own beauty and power. The house was designed as if the Structural work would have existed for some time and the Interior outfitting come only now. The thereby arose ‘in between rooms’ give the house its openness.”
In partnership with the social landlord “logis Familial”, subsidiary of “logements Français” group, we responded to a consultation launched by the city of Mouans-Sartoux for the construction of a small building of social housing. In order to identify the conducive elements to a development of the area and allow to build this housing as a figurehead in a neighborhood evolution, it was essential to analyze the urban context to have a justified approach :
Located in the west wing of the “Jose Vasconcelos” Library in Mexico, the personal library of Carlos Monsivais will be a space where the personal collection created by the writer’s mind will be safeguarded for public use.
The key element around which the project is developed is a centenarian oak existing in the plot. The spaces needed for the house are organised around the tree and a courtyard where the axes converge as a latin cross layout.
The commission consisted in remodeling the offices of Nexans Chile SA, located on the 2nd floor of a 50s building, towards the south area of Santiago.
