The Beginning of Draindot
Our client seemed to be confused. She purchased a land lot she fell in love with during a vacation, out of a simple thought that she wanted to live in the Jeju Island, and that was the beginning of Draindot. Started with high expectation, the first building design was a failure, and things were rough for her until she met ilsang_workroom to re-design, and started re-building with us, STARSIS, step by step. As you can see, Draindot started with just a vague idea.
Qalma is a vertical condominium which is developed in a reduced footprint, leaving a large percentage of green area, respecting the existing wooded area in the property and conserving 90% of all the trees grown on the site.
Álora, with its Castle surrounded by an ancient Arrabal, is placed as a bow of the mountainous landscape of Sierra del Hacho. The village has a rich and interesting history related to the Moorish defence against Catholics and about the creation of the malagueña, a kind of flamenco song.
The Hillside House is located in San Bernardino, far enough away to drive off the noise, 45 minutes from the city of Asuncion, and close enough to enjoy its privileged nature.
This Project consists of the integral renovation of a home in Petrer (Alicante). The existing building occupied a constructed surface of 138m2, 19 of which correspond to a porch. By law, this surface could not be extended and consequently the project needed to be based on an exact alteration of the existing building.
Casa Z is located on one of the highest hills in Zihuatanejo, on a trapezoidal land with an area of 500 m2. The surface of the land is irregular, the main access being on the upper part of the land. The main concept of the project was to create a minimalist house with rich social spaces where users could enjoy the panoramic views and the climate of the region. Three levels are proposed composed of two volumes that would be staggered to take advantage and respect the topography.
Casa Luzia is the second country house of a master plan of three houses in Avándaro, Mexico. (the first one is M House). This second land lot has a considerable downslope from the front to the back of the terrain. It rains with intensity most of the year and the lot is located in the natural pad of the rainwater. The big forest trees of Avandaro open to the center of the lot. The architectural program had to contemplate two different scenarios: a young couple with children or two young couples.
The project is located in the town of Sayulita, in the state of Nayarit and has a plot with a privileged view, which was sought to be embraced in all the spaces of the house. The clients, a couple from the United States, would only spend half of the year in Sayulita and wanted to take advantage of the tourist market, so they requested a separate one-bedroom apartment to be built as part of the project. This apartment is located above a two-car garage and warehouse area on the street level.
