Viable alternative instead of steel reinforcement in the construction is bamboo! It is ancient material used in the building construction because of its abundance, sustainability, and extremely resilience. This natural material has real potential to become future’s ideal replacement of the steel. There are developing countries which need steel-reinforced concrete, but often they do not have the means to produce it or to buy it. So, the solution of the Singapore’s Future Cities Laboratory and their suggestion is great alternative in manufactured rarity: using bamboo.
