Bamboo and Its Wide Use in the Construction and Design

Bamboo is evergreen plant that is also very often used in the construction and furniture making industry. Bamboo’s are between the fastest-growing plants in the world, due to a unique rhizome-dependent system. Certain bamboo types grow 91 cm (3 ft) within a 24-hour period, at a rate of almost 4 cm (1.5 in) an hour. There are also giant bamboos as the largest members of the grass family. Bamboos are very important economic and cultural significance in the areas where they grow: South Asia, Southeast Asia and East Asia.
